Some more feedback from the Aggregate 100 in North Yorkshire. The Rad8s again performed admirably. The course is 100km with about 1700m of climbing, so a grand day out (grommit). Vision was again much improved over contact lenses, one highlight being the first off road descent. This is steep, rocky and with many small drop offs. Normally vision on this sort of riding would be very bad, it is almost as if my contacts bounce about, remember I'm on a cross bike. With the Rad8s my vision remained sharp, allowing me to pick better lines and increase my speed. That my brakes weren't coping is another matter😀
With the varifocal I could easily read my GPS unit and could quickly see that despite the good signing I'd missed a turn. No problems to whip my phone out and check position on my OS map app.
The AG100 has 4 timed stages, the last involving a long push up a steep muddy, rooty hill, it's not nice. And it is in a dense wood. No steaming up at all, brilliant. By this time in a longish ride any riding glasses would be on top of my helmet due to fogging, muck etc. Not the Rad8s, although naturally there was some grot in was just track dirt, vision remained good until the end.
Very pleased customer.
We have now updated the Prescription range to include the 504 and 505 frame designs
